Located at 229 Apperson Dr, Salem, VA 24153, Xpress Car Wash operates as a car wash serving Salem in Virginia. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.
In Salem, washes are busiest on sunny weekends and the first dry day after rain or a snowstorm, when lines back onto the street; weekday mornings are the quietest. Across Virginia, expect a basic exterior wash to cost about what a fast-food meal does, with wax, tire shine and undercarriage rinse sold as tiers above it. Self-service bays are the cheapest way to clean a truck bed, a muddy off-roader or a vehicle that will not fit a tunnel, and many run around the clock. Check the listing for the wash type, hours, free vacuums, unlimited plans and whether the site accepts cards or app payments, then call ahead in freezing weather, when tunnels close.
The business lists hours on 7 days of the week. On most of those days it is open Open 24 hours. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. The listed phone number is (540) 728-0605. Many businesses also reply to text messages on the same number if it is a cell phone.
Its Google rating is 3.7 out of 5 from 103 reviews, a solid but mixed picture; reading the most recent reviews will tell you what to expect.
Salem is in Virginia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. Traffic in Salem peaks on weekday mornings and afternoons, so allow extra time then. Addresses read from the street number up to the city, state abbreviation and five-digit ZIP code; the map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Went through the car wash two hours after the opening time for vacuums and when I got out of my car none of the vacuums are on and there are no towels. Nobody to contact either.

Went through the touchless side. Paid more for drying. Car came out dirty with road grit at the bottom of the doors and a "soap" residue all over the car that was definitely NOT dry. Vacuum did not have small attachments to get under seats and fell apart upon using. Attempted to contact attendant no one is on site and no one answers the phone number provided online. I gave it one star because the car did get wet. I won't be back!

Paid for highest car wash and it was great but tried 4 vacuums and they had low pressure, non functional . I’ll change this review is someone answers and explains why or offers me a refund.

I purchased the $12 car wash and it was definitely not worth it, so glad I didn’t spend more. The bottom of both sides of the car still had lots of road spray and chemicals from the last snow. It might have been better if an employee used a long handled brush to start the cleaning process, like Ultimate Shine does.

In all fairness, the car wash itself is not bad at all. That being said, I was quite disappointed when, after purchasing and finishing the $16.00 top of the line option and pulling into a vacuum stall only to find them all deactivated for the night. 🌙 {If}, there is a sign informing customers of this. It's not in an obvious location easily seen by the customer prior to selecting the wash option. That was my first time using this carwash, and unfortunately, it will probably be the last as well.
